This Indenture made the tenth day of December AD One Thousand
eight hundred and forty four between James J McAlliley of the county of Warren
and State of Indiana of the first part and Nelson G Crawford of the County of
Warren and State of Indiana of the second part witnesseth that the said party
of the first part for and in consideration of two hundred and fifty dollars
lawful money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said party of the second
part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the said party of the first part
has granted bargained sold aliened released conveyed and confirmed
and b these presents doth grant bargain sell alien release convey and con
firm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all
that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of warren and State
of Indiana to wit: the SouthEast quarter of the North Est quarter of Section
Seven in Township twenty one North of Range Eight West in the District of
lands subject to sale at Crawfordsville Indiana containing forty acres
according to the official platt of the Survey of the said lands returned to the
General Land Office by the Surveyor General. To have and to hold the above
described premises hereby sold and conveyed unto the said Nelson G Crawford
his heirs and assigns forever. Together with all the and singular the appurten
ances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertainig to his own proper use and
behoof and the said party of the first part for himself his heirs executors and
administrators doth covenant grant and agree to and with the said party of
the second part his heirs and assigns that they the said party of the first part is the
true and lawful owner of the said premises, and has good right full power
and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner and form afore
said and further that he the said party of the first part for himself his heirs exec-
utors and administrators will warrant and forever defend the aforesaid
tract of land with the appurtenances and every part thereof to the said
party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever against the legal
claim or claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever In testimo
