     He witnessed the will of John Crawford on 7 Apr 1779 in Montgomery, Virginia, United States.912 He was the parent of Anne Crawford born in 1780.13

     James filed land entry papers  in Jun 1782 in Madison, Virginia, United States.14

     He was the parent of William Crawford born in May 1784.13
        He  purchased land from Thomas Kennedy containing 200 acres on Paint Lick Creek adjoining the John Kennedy station on 19 Apr 1786 in Lincoln, Virginia, United States.15

     James lived in Madison Township, Jefferson, Indiana, United States in 1826.41 He  sold land being the NE quarter of section 29 in township number 4 north of range number ten east to James M. Crawford on 7 Apr 1826 in Jefferson, Indiana, United States.42

     He died on 3 Apr 1836 at the age of 78 in Jefferson, Indiana, United States.1,35 James was buried at Hebron Cemetery in Jefferson, Indiana, United States.1,45,4344

James Crawford and Rebecca Anderson3,4546 were married in 1779 in Montgomery, Virginia, United States.6,12 Other records indicate they were married in 1783 in Virginia, United States.3,47 Other records indicate they were married in 1790.1,4,48Rebecca Anderson, daughter of John Anderson and Ann Irvine, was born in 1761.16,4916131313,1613131313,161313 She died in 1840 at the age of 79.49 She was buried in 1840 at Hebron Cemetery in Monroe Township, Jefferson, Indiana, United States.43,49 Rebecca was also known as Rebecca Crawford.1
