Sibling Deeds

As you go back generation by generation, do you try and identify your ancestor’s siblings? As I’m searching for records for my third great-grandfather, Horatio Hammond, it is proving very helpful to have sources that identify his siblings, including his brothers, Theodore and Lewis.

Two of Horatio Hammond’s Medina County Ohio deeds involve the three brothers. The first was dated in 1833 when they sell land. In the second deed, they purchase land in 1838. The two deeds are for two different tracts of land. Thus, additional deeds still need to be located.
